Gweedore
Gweedore is an area in The Gaeltacht area of northwest Donegal. Its Irish name Gaoth Dobhair
It is a very picturesque spot located between the mountains and the sea. It is dominated by Mount Errigal and has numerous other peaks as well as wild countryside an lakes.
Gweedore covers an area 26 kilometres by 14 kilometres from Dunlewey in the east to Magheraclogher in the west, and is one of Europe’s most densely populated rural areas. Wit a population of over 4000 it is the largest Irish-speaking parish in Ireland.
Gweedore includes the villages Bunbeg, Derrybeg, Dunlewey, Crolly and Brinlack.
